Después de unos meses sin actualizar el blog, vuelvo con la segunda edición de SIQ ( "Sí, quiero") Sevilla Handcraft and Fashion, la semana de la moda nupcial artesana en Sevilla.

Una vez más Alejandro Postigo me brinda la oportunidad de ilustrar su invitación para su desfile del jueves 14 de mayo.


After  a few months without updating the blog I come back with the second edition os SIQ  ( the `Yes, I do´ answer to the most important question in a wedding) Seville Handcraft and Fashion, the bridal fashion week in Seville.

Once again, Alejandro Postigo gives me the opportunity to illustrate the invitation to his fashion show on May, 14.

Lana del Rey or Leighton Meester?

Hace unos días asistía al debut en la pasarela flamenca "We Love Flamnco" de Sánchez Murube. Conozco a Diego desde hace años y su arte va evolucionando a pasos agigantados, !felicidades!

Esto, unido a una foto promocional de otro artista, Andrés Gallardo en la que Lana del Rey luce una de sus creaciones, me inspiraron a "garabatear" ésta que os presento, que sin querer representar a Lana, es inevitable que se pareciese... ¿O es Leighton Meester?

Days ago, I attended Sánchez Murube debut in "We Love Flamenco" runway. A flamenco fashion show in Seville.

I met Diego years ago, and his art evolves quickly in the best way, congratulations!

Combining his show and art with Andrés Gallardo´s art, as you can see in the promotional picture where Lana del Rey wears one of his pieces, inspired me to doodle this. I didn´t want to represent Lana but it´s unavoidable to see the resemblance...Or is it Leighton Meester?

Anyway, I hope you like it.

Esta es la última vez que dibujo este año, creo...He estado experimentado con acuarelas, mezclándola con lápices de colores y mi amado bic cristal negro.

This is the last time I draw this year...I think...I´ve been experimenting with watercolour, mixing it with coloring pencils and my beloved black pen.

The Comeback

Alguien me dijo una vez que hoy día, para que se divulgue el trabajo de un ilustrador, internet es sumamente necesaria, pero el dibujante necesita también tiempo para crear dejando abandonada internet de vez en cuando para dedicarse a crear.

Mi blog ha estado abandonado últimamente, pero he vuelto con los bocetos, garabatos, dibujos e ilustraciones que he hecho durante este tiempo desconectado. Puedes ver las últimas actualizaciones aquí abajo. Y como "bonus" os dejo el último retrato que he hecho de Siobhán Donaghy.

Somebody told me that internet is very important for the illustrator´s work to be spread, but the drawer needs time for drawing so internet must be abandoned from time to time to create again.

In honour of her comeback with `Can´t Relay On You´ I made this illustration inspired in her latest artwork and something related to her Spanish roots, the Andalusian sacred art, obviously represented in the drawing.

En honor a su vuelta con "Can´t Relay On You", realicé esta ilustración inspirada en su última foto para la promoción del single y en algo relacionado con sus raíces españolas, el arte sacro andaluz, obviamente representado.

Paloma San Basilio in Alejandro Postigo.

 

 

 

 

 

Months ago, my friend Alejandro Postigo asked me for help illustrating his designs for Paloma San Basilio, a great Spanish artist of all time. She was to appeared in Sevilla Magazine cover wearing different dresses designed and done by Alejandro, but he´s always working in so many things, thus he gave me this great opportunity.

Meses atrás, mi amigo Alejandro Postigo, del que ya os he dejado alguna que otra entrada, me pidió que ilustrara los trajes que había diseñado para Paloma San Basilio, que iba a ser portada de la revista Sevilla Magazine e iba a protagonizar un bonito reportaje llevando alguno de sus trajes. Alejandro tiene siempre un importante volumen de trabajo, hecho este que me dio esta gran oportunidad.
